With nearly 800 outdated college bookstores across the U.S., Barnes & Noble needed to evolve their brand and retail approach to survive non-brick-and-mortor competitors.
From a full rebrand establishing Barnes & Noble as curators of the college experience, to a retail strategy that surfaced the emotional value buried in its cluttered shelves, we ushered a new era for the massive roster of stores. With a flexible signage system, interactive integrations, a partnership strategy—launched in collaboration with Champion's 100th anniversary celebration—a localized influencer program, a merchandising training guide for managers and associates, and a suite of digital and print marketing assets, stores nationwide were able to rejuvinate their value and sales on-campus.
